Doc: "Where we're going, we don't need timing and keys"
You are on a small disc in a black well. Twelve lasers rise around you. Eight screens glow further out, and wireframe moons drift between you and the screens. There is no menu and nothing to read. You find it with your hands.
Put a hand into a laser and a sample of that kind starts. Take the hand away and it stops. The next time you enter that laser, you get the next sample in the set. Lasers 1 and 2 are drum loops, 3 and 4 are drum hits, 5 and 6 are bass, 7 and 8 are synth lines, and 9 to 12 are vocals. Pull the trigger while you are still in the beam and the sample loops, and it stays that sample. The laser turns magenta, so you can see which ones are still playing after you let go. Hold both triggers for a moment and every loop stops. The beams go back to cyan.
The left hand sets the volume. The right hand sets the speed. Putting a hand in a laser does not jump the value. It stays where it was. Move up the beam to raise it, down to lower it. Latching the loop keeps that volume and that speed when you take your hand away. You can put both hands in the same beam. The light stops at the lower hand, and each hand still does its own job.
The button on the right controller, B, changes the sample pack. The eight screens change colour with it, so you can see which groove you are in. They also breathe with the samples playing nearest them. Each pack is a different groove. The twelve lasers stay in the same order, so once you know the circle you know every pack.
Made for the Godot XR Game Jam, September 2026. The theme was Adrift. This is the jam build from Koretex. It wants a Quest. Sideload the APK, stand up, and click both thumbsticks once so the floor is where your feet are.
